Yep, that's normal. The vigorous bit only lasts a few days. The rate of fermentation will slow dramatically from now on.

gravity reading: 1.010
appearance:like fizzy cola again,but with a few patches of bubbles gatering on the surface.

o cheers badger,i have now took it out of the boiler cupboard and put it in my front room,i have also removed the sleeping bag which was wrapped around it (to keep it warm).what should be the ideal temp at this stage?

as ive only just moved it (11.30am) ill wait a few hours before i record the temp and hydrometer reading...ill post the results later this afternoon.

My brews usually bumble along at around 18-20C.

DAY +4:-
temp:24 degrees
hydrometer reading:1.010

appearance:still,with the odd little bubble here and there with patches of very thin froth.


i think tomorrow it will be ready for maturing in me keg....as my hydrometer reading has been 1.010 yesterday and today.

is it possible to taste before maturing,or will it just make me ill??

No it won't make you ill but some beers don't taste good until they've matured for a while so just bear in mind that it's taste may change over time.

haha cheers badger...now i wont have to worry about avin a cheeky mouthfull when im syphoning lol

ill post up ma results as normal tomorrow and hopefully fermantation should be over!!
i fermentation is sposed to take 1-2 weeks,but i used beer enhancer n it says it speeds up fermentation.

i have put it in my bathroom (coolist room) with the window open.
