The ingredients

Steeping the Crystal Malt at 70C

Now the LME

I used digital scales set to zero with the boiler in place...

Image

Then poured in the LME until I reached the required amoount (aimed for 4.5Kg and was 20g over)

The Boil

And the final hops at flame out for 30 mins

All went close to plan but ended up with slightly lower OG than predicted - 1.055 instead of the 1.059  and after 12 hours is fermenting nicely =D>

looking good... I think I'd have been scared fitting elements to one of my youngs fermenters, though looks like its done the job for you :)
I was visualising the 15kg of LME to be much bigger than it looks in your picture.

The Young's FV conversion works really well. The 15Kg isn't huge and is manageable. If you didn't have scales to pour directly into the boiler however, I think liquid extract would be a real pain. Most kitchen scales seem to go to about 2Kg and if you need 4 kg of LME, that means measuring out probably 3 times into a pan, then pouring into the boiler.
