Hi Lads and Lassies
Made my second brew yesterday but forgot to put on my glasses, i have filled up to 25ltrs mark instead of 23 ltrs mark on my FV and i have pitched the yeast. The brew is Tom Caxton Dark Real Ale 1.8kg. Will i have done any damage? should i leave it the way it is? any advice appreciated.
By the way what a fantastic website this is, i have read it thru and thru for advice before going ahead and buying my equipment i.e. Coopers micro brew kit. My first brew coopers lager is sitting in bottles waiting to clear and i am going to try and keep my hands of it for at least 4 weeks (promise).
cheers
Lindsay
new brewer. put in too much water
Re: new brewer. put in too much water
No harm done, but it will be weaker, I did this, but mine was jus a couple of pints over, but it did weaken the beer, just means you can drink more before you pass out!

Hi welcome to the forum!
To be honest no harm done I did this with a wherry I made and it actually turned out to be a good session beer of about 3.7%ish.
You could lob in some spray malt if you wanted to up the ABV but I'd be tempted to just leave it, that way you will keep the balance of flavours albeit a bit weaker. You aren't alone either if you look through the threads alot of people have done it at some time or another!
