Once the brew is in the FV and bubbling away, would it be damaging to add further fermentables (such as a spraymalt mixed with water, or golden syrup) to the fermenting brew?
Just a little concerned that because I used BKE instead of brewing sugar, I might be a little light on my fermentable content and end up with a beer that is lower in ABV than I'd hoped for.
It's been brewing for two days quite happily, and consists of
500g BKE
250g Glucose
250g Muscovado sugar
A glug or two of golden syrup.
Would adding more golden syrup or a mix of glucose / spraymalt with boiled water (cooled!) do any harm at this stage?
might sound like a silly question

You may well introduce infection. Leave it be.
Best wishes

Hi pauljmuk
BKE is 50/50 spraymalt and glucose.
So you already have about 750ml of glucose/sugar and a glug or two of glucose syrup.
A lot of people on here use 750 ml spraymalt and 250 glucose.
I think you've got enough fermentables in it already.

thanks all - not too concerned by infection as would only choose to add if boiled down in sterilised vessel and cooled.
regarding final post - i think thats my worry - you say the fermentables are fine, but I think that calculates them as being low compared to the 1kg of sugar recommended for a "normal" brew.
