vinagery/ Scrumpy taste

Post by Yeastman » Thu May 07, 2009 4:27 pm

I have just tried a few bottles of my coopers dark ale and there seems to be an in-consistancy. One bottle will taste fine but another will have a slight vinagery / scrumpy taste. Is it some thing that has happened at the bottling stage, Primed with too little or too much sugar, Not rinsed properly after sterilisation or has the crown not gone on quite well enough and let some air in. I am not sure any ideas?

How long have they been bottled?

Might well be a sterlisation fault on certain offending bottles.

Sounds like air's got into some of your bottles to me, are they really bad, and are they getting worse?
