Adding Crystal Malt

Post by sonicated » Thu May 14, 2009 5:43 pm

I've got a Geordie Bitter kit which I'm going to make with Beer Enhancer. I was going to caramelise some sugar too but I think it would be better to add some steeped crystal malt instead. Is this a good idea? If so how much should I use?

about 200g in a muslin bag boiled between 60-70 degrees. empty out the can with boiled water and add another cans worth into a sanitised pan (large) or stock pot. about 30 mins should do the job.

no problem

if its any help i got the stockpot from wilkinsons for about £7

it was definatley on of the best ales i have done. all the extras really added to the flavour of the brew.
