Just Fuggles hops

Post by adodman » Wed May 20, 2009 1:03 pm

I have received 500gm of Fuggles earlier this week and for my second AG I would like to make a beer using just fuggles.

Does anyone have a recipe for a 5 gallon brew length bitter using just fuggles hops? [-o<

Cheers
Andrew

In Beer Engine's example recipes there's a sample 1920's bitter which is all Fuggles with all hops put in at start of boil.

EDIT: I'm knocking up a 10 litre batch of bitter this afternoon which was going to have goldings and fuggles. I think I'll change it to all fuggles and see how it comes out. Like you, I've got a lot of fuggles :)
Best wishes

Here's my recipe for Goth Whore, aka Pendle Witches Brew Clone.

4.45 kg Marris Otter 80.9 %
0.28 kg Wheat Malt 5.1 %
0.28 kg Crystal 5.1 %

0.49 kg White Sugar 8.9 %

60.00 gm Fuggles [4.50%] (60 min) Hops 26.6 IBU
20.00 gm Fuggles [4.50%] (10 min) Hops 3.6 IBU
20.00 gm Fuggles [4.50%] (0 min)

You'll need to make adjustments to reach 1.050 gravity.
To fully taste the fuggles, I'd ferment with Safale-05
