Using Promash

Post by RabMaxwell » Mon Dec 11, 2006 1:18 pm

Hello all i have downloaded promash for a trial .But when trying to add the % value for each ingredient say Pale malt (86 %) ect can't you put in exact % figures you want. You seem to have to try and jiggle each ingredient up and down and never get to where you want them when trying to make a recipe. Cheers

Double click on the grain line Rab and it pops up a box where you can enter exact weight.

I have to agree this is rather a annoying thing about promash - unless I'm missing something :?

Cheers Andy tried that but you still seem to have to jiggle things around could take some time to achieve the figures you want seems a bit of a pain. I think i will stick with pen and paper. Cheers

Rab - what are you trying to do ?

Converting an existing recipe up to a larger batch size ?
or
Put together a recipe from %ages only e.g. 85% Pale, 15% Crystal ?
or summat else ?

You can easily convert a recipe from one size to another :-

1. Set the batch size to the size of the recipe you're copying
2. Enter the ingredients as per the recipe you're copying - including the original weights. Grain and hops.
3. Select the "Lock ingredients to batch size" box.
4. Change the batch size to the brew length you're going to use.
5. The quantities are then scaled to your new brew length.

Oh and the "Efficiency Lock" field scales the recipe to a new efficiency if selected:-

1. Enter recipe as above
2. Enter the efficiency quoted for the recipe in the Efficiency field.
3. Select the "Efficiency lock" checkbox
4. Change the Efficiency field to your efficiency.
5. The grain weights change automatically to suit your efficiency.
