Temperature for storing beer
Temperature for storing beer
I'm sure this will have been answered before, but I tried searching the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer.
I have a Coopers Brewmaster IPA in the FV which I intend to bottle tonight.
Given how warm it is at the moment I will have no problem storing it in the warm for a week, but after that I don't have anywhere which is reasonably cool
Will my beer be fine stored in the warm? (not that I have much choice at the moment)
What effect (if any) will the warmth have on the beer?
Will it keep as long? (drinking it quicker will not be a problem!)
Anything else that I should be aware of?

Here, Here! i also have this problem, my garage is at about 22 degrees at the moment during the day..... i've had a keg of Norforl Nog in there for 11 days and it tastes ok, just a little warmer that i like my Ale, but i also would like to know if there are any adverse affects of storing warm. Not that it'll stop me drinking it mind you.......

It's Hobson's Choice for me - the shed.
Best wishes

unfortunately I don't have a fridge which I can keep all my bottles in, the shed is too warm (no electric in there, and no room for a fridge in there either)

Does the lack of replies mean that no-one really knows if storing homebrew in the warm will effect it? I'm sure it'll be drinkable either way, but would be useful to know...

It will be fine. May take a little longer to clear but that's all.
I would imagine that most people don't have a temperature controlled environment and brew and serve beer without problems.

I always found it a problem to serve at the right temperatre before I built my cool cabinet.
However, it didn't stop me from storing my beer - just made it a bit warm.

As Chris said, I had too much Brandy and bodies to store, it was the obvious storage space answer........
