Cleaning Beer Bottles

Hello i need to clean some Grolsh bottles soon as i want to bottle some of my brew i am planning making tomorrow as i want to have a supply of Themes Valley Yeast.The bottles have been lying around for a few years as i never bottle far too lazy .I have some Wizz OXI Plus & some beer-line cleaner which one would be best for cleaning them

I nicked a baby bottle brush from the dishwasher many years ago and still use it when I must face the devil and bottle.

Fill an FV with a warm water and lots of strong bleach, then leave them all to soak in it for a few hours. That'll kill pretty much anything.

You'll need to rinse really well though.....

Cheers Chris i just tried some Wizz oxi on some John Guest fittings that were minging took the dirt straight off where Chemipro Oxi wouldn't shift it.The bottles aren't that bad so 1/2 a tsp should do Wizz Oxi is only £1 at Asda lovely

Most likely the Oxi - i'd agree. When i use bleach to clean bottles, I make sure to rinse it 3 times at least just to be sure....

Look's like i will have to use my big green Grolsh bottles instead as i replaced the rubber seals on most of the small bottles with ones from hop & Grape a couple of years ago & they have all perished & split.The ones that still have there original seals are still ok so i guess Hop & grapes ones are crap .Is green bottles ok or do you have to keep them out of strong light.

Hello all this is for someone like Chris who can count how much priming sugar do i need to prime each bottle they hold 1ltr 600mil each.Cheers

Cheers Chris better go as we are off with the camper van this is the beauty of temperature control the fermentation will take care of itself for a few day's.
