HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!!!
Re: HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!!!
I guess if the beer is still OK then why don't you bottle it with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and wait the the sediment to drop?

Re: HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!!!
You often get that with kegs. It's due to the strain of yeast used not forming a very tight sediment so it's getting stirred up as you pour the beer. Not a lot you can do about it with your current batch. To reduce the effect in future you could leave the beer in the FV for a few extra days so that more yeast will drop out there and you'll have less sediment in the keg. The other thing you could do for milds and bitters is use a highly floculent yeast such as Safale S-04 instead of the kit yeast. S-04 is renowned for forming a tight sediment.
Best wishes

I'd agree on S04 - provides an almost jelly like layer at the bottom that holds together. That said, it's totally neutral, and isn't the thing if you are looking for your yeast to add flavour.
I've also found Nottingham Danstar to compact very well, and is renowned to give a better flavour profile than S04.
Those are both, of course, dried yeasts, and if we are onto flavours, the liquid are better.

cheers lads
with my current brew (whats left of it) would straining it through net curtains help or would it be better to,as i said ,pour down the toilet?
im currently fermenting GEORDIES BITTER (with the normal 1kg of sugar and an extra 125g aprox demerara sugar added)..fermentation should be over in the next couple of days.
cheers,
john

Re: HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!!!
I'd ditto ditch, but also worth an attempt at the earlier comment of bottle and re-prime see if it'll setle a little more. But will probably be really difficult to pour.
For future as others have said both S-04 and Nottingham stick to the bottom really well and you barely waste any in the bottom of the keg.
Cant say I've noticed the flavour adding that yeast can have but the beers I've done with Nottingham have hardly touched the sides ;o)
get two on the go so that they over lap as you finish one the other is ready to drink then you wont worry about eeking out that last drop...brew more!!!!!!!!!
