HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by shaffick » Mon Jun 15, 2009 6:50 pm

i just tranfered my coopers euro lager from bucket to keg on saturday 13/6/09. today i have come home from work and noticed that the keg is leaking from the tap even though it is closed!. i have noticed that there is a slight hissing sound comoing from the valve. i have just replaced the seals and washer on both valve and cap. i can only assume that there is a lot of pressure in my plastic 5 gallon keg. how do i stop this leak?

you could try putting a smear of vaseline on all the seals then tighten everything back up really well.

If you decide that you have excessive pressure in the barrel, try pinching/pulling on the 'rubber band' seal on the outside of the valve to release some pressure. If the tap is leaking from the 'mount', you might be able to tighten it a little without having to take the lid off the barrel by clockwise turning it from the outside - just make sure it's not pointing up when you finish
