I will be keeping a close eye on this thread. If these mills are up for the job then it would be a be fantastic. It has always confused me why it was impossible to buy one cheaper.

The last 25kg bag of pale malt I bought was found by the local mice

I've ordered a 93p mill, just for the hell of it.

They say next day despatch but it's a 5 to 10 day lead time so I guess they have to order from them from a suppliers.

I hope despatch and buying are different departments. That way they may not spot the mistake.

I do not hold up much hope.

They are adjustable if you place washers between the plates held together by the two adjustable bolts. Let me see if you can see my setup.

You can see the washer just to the left of the porkert and you can see where I cut out the sheet metal to allow for the washer so my grain exit will fall into my bucket instead of everywhere else.

Sorry for the picture size.

Been looking at mills that look pretty much the same elsewhere and they all say they are adjustable...so looks very promising!

Bet the people at PVR will think that there has been a boom in people wanting to make their own bread and other heathly stuff....but little do they know it 's just a load of us home brewers wanting a bargain!! :D

I don't think this is going to go through either, but it's worth a try  We haven't given authority for them to debit our cards for more than the £9ish total so they can't put the order through for the real amount

Even at the original price it's still pretty good value! Everywhere else seem to sell them for £35-50!! I've seen HB shops trying to sell them for more than that!!

They work out at about £26 when you factor in postage and vat which I guess is pretty good. I had no intention of buying a mill in the first place though, so I'll have to decide whether to go through with the order if they want the full amount.

On the plus side I'm thinking uncrushed malt will be easier to store and will perhaps open up more possibilities for buying from micros for cheap like DRB 8)

I'd imagine you'll all get an Email early this coming week!

I didn't bother ordering as I'm too lazy to crush grain and would rather splash a bit more cash to get someone to crush it for me

If I could buy ready crushed malt dead cheap from a microbrewery down the road like yourself, I don't think I'd be ordering a mill either
