Summer Ale mit Amarillo, Styrians, und First Gold?

Post by Whorst » Mon Jul 27, 2009 4:00 am

Going to be brewing here shortly. Wondering how Amarillo would go with Styrians and First Gold? I'm aiming for a big, bold, citrus punch. I'm thinking Amarillo/First Gold for bittering, with loads of Styrians for finishing.

86.5% US Pale Ale Malt
3.7% Wheat(non-torrified)
10.8% German Pilsner
Yeast: UK-05
O.G 1.041
F.G. 1.009
ABV. 4.1%

If you want a citrus punch, get your hands on some Cascade.

I'll see if I can find Bobek. I prefer Amarillo over Cascade.

pdtnc - warum sprechen Sie keine Deutsch? Have a look on the London Amateur Brewers' Google group for my German beer glossary.

Google translates that weird "why you do not speak German", I only know bits from way back at school. :)

If you are looking for a citrus powerhouse then what you want to use are Summit, Centennial and Amarillo. Those 3 hops will definitely give you what you are looking for.

I used all Summit as an experiment. Beer is really nice. Still fermenting slowly with UK-05.
