Pale Ale #03 (AKA "Aye P.A.")
Re: Pale Ale #03 (AKA "Aye P.A.")
Although Aye PA is not dead yet: My Dad's share which was cask conditioned, has failed to condition enough. Perhaps next time I shall rack straight from primary into casks and only use a secondary fermentation stage for beer to go into my kegs. There should have been sufficient priming sugar, so I'm guessing that either there was insufficient viable yeast or that the casks didn't spend long enough at room temperature (only two days) before being returned to the cellar.

Also check the seals on the barrel's lid and valve?
If you don't mind an initial cloudy pint or so you can always use natural conditioning in the corny and therefore keg/cask the beer at the same time. I don't have a "pub gas" setup so force carbonation would be an expensive option for me. You just have to wait a bit longer before the beer's ready to drink.

Thanks CB, maybe next time, a case of bolting the stable door after you've shot the horse this time though,
