Hey Garth is this the up to date version of your SNPA recipe. Going to give it a go tomorrow. Don't have the CaraPils or the Perle, think this will affect the outcome much ? Any extra tips for brewing this ?
Going to scale up to 10g, looking forward to chucking in 120g of Cascade at the end

Great! Halfway into the mash, heating up some sparge water

That sparge water is taking an awful long time, is the HLT plugged in?

Maybe its like when my other half asks me to boil the kettle for her...
Off I go... Fill the kettle...

Then just don't turn it on!

hey Mysty
missed this thread somehow, sorry mate
did you do it then? how did it go?
To be honest the Perle spoiled it a bit until I toned it right down, gave a harsh taste, so you probably did right to miss it out even though it's supposedly in the real thing, and the carapils was just there to smooth things off and give a bit head retention.

What was the final recipe...? I can't see the photobucket picture. Had a bottle of this last night from tescos, wanted to turn my nose up at it, but it was very nice.

here it is mate, I've been messing with my photobucket albums and I've messed all my recipe postings up, sorry
if you don't have any or don't want to use the Perle simply add a bit more Magnum, about 5g should do it with those AA in the recipe

Just looking at the recipe, tasted as if there was more IBUs. Shows how much I know!

Nah I'll stick to your clone for now. I am forever over hopping my beers (don't encourage me!). I'll lose the perle and add a bit of magnum as advised. As was said in a previous post about SNPA, this is one beer I would be interested in doing an exact clone.

me too.......
Myself and Delboy did a good few clones of this off the trot to try and hit it on the chin, I got fairly close to colour and taste with my last one, Del was pleased with his as well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's the only beer I would love to clone 'perfectly', why? I don't know, oh, that and Young's Special London....love that brew.................

Aye it went well, its down to 1.010 ish now, will give it another day on the yeast before chilling it down. Tastes a bit sharp from the FV but probably because theres so much yeast in suspension.
