Guiness & Boddingtons

Post by ianac1 » Sun Aug 09, 2009 9:43 pm

Hi Guys

I'm looking for something to brew for my father in law from a kit that's as close to guiness and one close to boddingtons as i can get with a kit.

Any suggestions?

I can make adaptations to the kits, use malt extract, hops etc.

Hows the coopers irish stout in comparison to guiness for example?

Maybe even go for a decent IPA kit (he likes that too) if anyone could advise on the best one?

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Ian

Probably best ye Don't let a Guinness drinker taste Coopers Stout, Ian. It could ruin his life. A man could for ever more hanker for the taste of Coopers and know he has to settle for Guinness instead.

Thanks for the input guys, i'm a guiness fan myself so i'm going to have to make coopers stout my next brew, very interested to see what it's like now.

What do you guys say, 1 can coopers stout & 1kg DME?

Also what's everyones favourite IPA?

Cheers

Coopers IPA :D

It is fruity with a nice hop flavour, and very drinkable.

You can do this with a kilo of malt extract or 500g + 300g of plain sugar for a drier IPA.

Thank you and thank you.

My next two batches will be coopers stout and coopers IPA, unless i can find where to find out where to make your legendary stout Ditch?

See it mentioned all over the place.

Maybe i'm blind, no jokes! :D but i can't find the recipe/instructions anywhere.
