Cherry Ale
Cherry Ale
Any ideas if you could use maybe marris otter a little crystal malt and some sort of cherry juice or simular would work , also would you need any hops.
Re: Cherry Ale
Brupaks do a Cherry concentrate for that very purpose.
I've never used it but someone hopefully will come along with maybe a recipe. I imagine you could add it to any light coloured beer but in what quantities I don't know.

Re: Cherry Ale
I tried my two local HB shops but no luck looks like ebay or maybe google it.
Re: Cherry Ale
I know this may raise a few eyebrows
but I brewed a very bitter IPA then added a jar of cherries and a tin of cherry pie filling!! After further fermenting on the pulp and long maturation it was delicious and very strong. Can't see many members eagerly copying this, but it was a bit of fun experimenting that worked! The recipe was based on an old book by Ben Turner that he did for Marks and Spencers circa 1980. The recipes look abit strange sometimes, but are often very good. Don't think homebrewing is trendy enough for M&S anymore.

Re: Cherry Ale
I see Asda are doing frozen cherries for a pound a bag might give them ago
Re: Cherry Ale
Just finished a cherry wine using pressed juice from Morrisons (not seen it anywhere else yet) and it's amazingly tart but tastes of cherries none the less, you could dump a couple of litres of that into your FV nearing the finish line so that it don't drive too much of the flavour away.

Hope this helps
