fermentation question

Post by fermorandy » Sat Aug 22, 2009 9:55 pm

Hi to all, i'm new to home brewing, and just started my first kit today, its a woodsfordes micobrewery kit with admirals reserve. I was just wondering how long will it be before it starts to ferment, its been about 6 hours now, and no bubbling in the airlock. Am i just a bit inpatient. hope the question doesn't sound to silly. :?

Hiya

between 12-24 hrs before you see any real activity, did you pitch the yeast straight in from the packet, if so it may take longer, always better to rehydrate it in a little warm (previously boiled) water.

Hope your first is a goodun [-o<

You will probably not see any activity for around 12-24 hours & this is normal, provided the temperature of your brew is in the 18c-22c range.

Hope you don't mind me moving your post from the guestbook, but you may get a better responce in the kit brewing section.
