Re: bottles over kegs
It really depends on how quick you want to drink your brew & if you can keep your kk cool this time of the year, preferably around 12c-14c.
I bottle my summer brews so I can pop the bottles in the fridge & I transfer them to kk's during the cooler months of the year.

Bottling is very therapeutic.
It usually takes me over 2hrs to do 22litres into 1/2 litre glass bottles.
Get the radio on and have a beer (or two) as you go.
It makes it more of an occasion when you open a bottle, too.
Cheers

Heh that's why I keg my ales - I can see the attraction as to portability, cooling etc, but kegging is so much easier & quicker. And I like the whole idea of having a barrel of beerBromley Brewery wrote:Bottling is very therapeutic.

Do you like your beer fizzy? If so, go with the bottles. If not, go with the keg.
And the easiest / cheapest way to improve a kit is to add Spraymalt instead of sugar, IMHO.

I've only ever used bottles previously. Been very pleased with the results.
I would like to try a keg but the cost puts me off, (I got most of my bottles for free), plus don't know if I would get through it in time. In an ideal worlds, I like to have a few different batches on the go at the same time and I find this easier with bottles.
I'm talking myself out of trying the keg now.... but I do like the bottles for all the reasons mentioned above.
