Re: Zinger Ale
Good looking trub
Do you just use a pan to collect the first runnings or did you caramelise them?

Re: Zinger Ale
Just to collect. I have caramelised wort in the past though. Did it with my Northern English Brown Ale. It gave it a cracking toffee flavour.pdtnc wrote:Good looking trubDo you just use a pan to collect the first runnings or did you caramelise them?
Re: Zinger Ale
My mouth is watering at that gingery darling brew....I'm doing my (i hope) first successful AG at the mo, two failures (long story)....but a ginger brew...please keep us up to date. A badger fan at all? Its a good beer for hangover recovery if the ginger comes through. Oh and curry. Did you freeze the ginger first? B4 you respond....was it you who advised me that?!
Anyway, looks blimmin delicious, G'Luck!
ps, the boil is on, hop smell is king....yeah, I may have had a lemon woopsie.
pip pip
moc

Re: Zinger Ale
Nice pics and sounds like a nice recipe. I thought when I saw the title of this post it was going to be a nettle beer

Cheers. Yes, it does have a nettley feel to the title. Bubbling away nicely in the backgroundsubsub wrote:Nice pics and sounds like a nice recipe. I thought when I saw the title of this post it was going to be a nettle beer

Re: Zinger Ale
This is one of the nicest beers I've ever tasted. Glad I made 40 of them!
The ginger and zest balance is just perfect. Dished a few out at work and the lads loved them. My girlfriend and her mates loved them last night too which is a first!!
A definite keeper this one!
