What kits to stock
As a home brewer I'm keen to stock some stuff in my own shop. I have an account with brupaks and am not sure what kits to stock. There may not be a market for it in my area so I don't want to get the whole range. Any pointers as to the most popular kits? My outlook is: if it doesn't sell I'll just have to "dispose" of it somehow

Re: What kits to stock
Hi, The Brupaks Colne Valley Bitter is a nice kit in my opinon. TT.

Indeed. I believe it's Bru Pak I've never heard a word out of place about myself. Sounds a good place to start then?
Obviously, I'd also suggest a crate of Coopers Stout

Brupaks Fixby Gold, cracking kit
Re: What kits to stock
Would it be worth opening an account with coopers then? I'm sure I've seen the brand mentioned a few times on here.Ditch wrote:Indeed. I believe it's Bru Pak I've never heard a word out of place about myself. Sounds a good place to start then?

That could be possible .....

Pity Brupaks don't know better.
They should be supporting the homebrew trade and not supplying any outlet.
This guy doesn't even know what to stock so he will be unable to offer much advice to his customers no matter how good his intentions.

A home brew shop has got to start somewhere. I couldn't find a home brew shop in Liverpool so I am taking the tentative steps towards starting a home brew section in my Pharmacy. I can offer plenty of advice on how to brew, esp all grain, but from a business perspective, if I am starting out with a few kits to test the water I'd like to stock the more popular ones.xena wino princess wrote:Pity Brupaks don't know better.

I do understand the general thrust of the feeling that we should support purely home brew shops but there is not one in Liverpool and it is a free market. One could go all the way and brow-beat people that buy grain from the maltsers instaid of the home brew shops but that would be equally pointless. My aim is to increase the amount of people taking up or rekindling their love of home brew.
Re: What kits to stock
Well, I didn't think of as many reasons as that
But yeah, I reckon they're the best value kits on the market. Nice idea about the leaflet, would cost you pennies and would greatly increase your chances of the punter coming back through the door.

Re: What kits to stock
The order should be coming in today. I hope I haven't overdone it - it took me an hour to go through the order sheet to input the details into the till, Oh for a basic till!
Re: What kits to stock
TBH, planning has not really come into it as much as I would normally with business. That website may be a good idea. I've gone a bit mad and ordered things like smoked malts etc. Hope I can shift them
Failing that: BIG BREW DAY ahead!

I may just get struck off for that.
Can't wait for the smell of malt to hit the shop
