I have one of these 70ltrs . Yes it does come with a tap. but one of just a few millimeters, probably alright for pouring tea but not much else.
But it is easy to drill it out wider and fit a proper ball valve.

I just need a false bottom now. Does anybody have a hop & grape steel domed false bottom on their Bain Marie or other suggestions!

Does anyone have a link for the 100L pot? I can find it anywhere. I presume its not double walled if its suitable for a boiler.

Last time I looked there was only a very small selection available. They may be waiting for a delivery -- ask the seller?

Thats what I've found. The 70l doesn't seem to be available either. I'll give it a week or two. Is the 100L the same type of construction, or is it single walled?

That's interesting, as my 70L stock pot arrived last week & had a large dent in it plus a few surface makes inside & the box showed no signs of damage. Now my previously purchased 50L stock pot & 38L thermo box were both in perfect condition but they were bought at a time with there were literally 2 or 3 being avertised at the same time.

Now what's more interesting, is that in the damaged 70L stock pot, was a new 33L stock pot, so could it be that this was a sweetner, based on the fact that they knew it was damaged before they sent it i.e put another pot in the box & lets see if the customer flags this & as well as the damage or play on human nature and assume that there was nothing wrong .

I'll let you decide what I did but it involved a hammer and suitably shaped piece of wood, no what do I do with my new underback

I got a few off cuts of fire wood from a friend, one of which, was a thick piece, cut into a semi circle, which kind of matched the profile of the inside of the pot. So I popped this inside the pot & hit it a few times with a large hammer, the result is the dent popped out nicely. So whilst you can still see a little surface 'ripple' the dent has vanished

I also got the majority of the surface marks out, with my dremel, a polishing wheel & a couple of grades of valve seating paste

Living in the Black Country i.e metal bashing country, comes in handy i.e if in doubt, hit it with a hammer & if that's too risky, pop a piece of wood between

100l is single walled - biggest thermo pot they do is 80l I think

Thanks. 100L for a boiler and 70L with tap for mashing would be ideal. Pity they don't seem to exist any more. I'll have to wait to see if they surface again. Does anyone know how to find out the shipping charges to UK? Those on the site seem to apply to France only.

The sale of these items is very much 'batch' related i.e it was this time last year that the last 'batch' of stainless-ware from Nordic dried up, only to be preplenished 3 to 4 months later. If you drop them a mail, they usually reply within a couple of days.

As for postage costs, I think my 50L & 70L cost between £15 & £20, which I guess is about right for an international parcel, the size & weight of a 50L to 70L stock pot.

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 60l thermo and 70l pot to convert to mash tun and boiler respectively. I'm just wondering if anyone out there can point me to a decent thread or 'tutorial' on the forum to help me choose the right bits and pieces, and cut the dreaded holes at the right sizes! I've never tackled stainless before so I'm a little bit apprehensive to say the least!

Also, does anyone have a preference either way for using a copper manifold or stainless mesh on the floor of the MT? I suppose I could just take the copper tubes out of my plastic Thermos box and recycle them in the new MT, unless somebody here thinks I'll get better results with mesh?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I cannot see why not, considering they are for use in the catering industry.

absolutely yes - will be boiling early tomorrow morning, I mash overnight
I use a butane burner currently approximately the same heat output as propane
