Youngs brew buddy
Youngs brew buddy
I've had a brew buddy on the go for the last 8 days. Took the first hydro reading today it got 1.008. It smells like beer with hints of yeasty bread. I hope this going in the right direction.
Re: Youngs brew buddy
make sure it does not sit on the yeast too long,
If you are barreling it be good to move it now, and it can finish in the barrel
you may need to leave it to mature for 3 - 4 weeks minimum this helps the yeast dissipate

Re: Youngs brew buddy
Ill take another hydro reading today if there no change then into the pressure vessel it goes. What would be the best sugar to use for the secondary fermentation iam think about light brown for that bit of flavour.
Re: Youngs brew buddy
My brew buddy lager got down to 1008 in 4 days i bottled it at that point and im drinking it now and it's not bad at all nice and carbonated good head on it and tastes great.
Re: Youngs brew buddy
what sugar shoud i use? I dont have access to brewers sugar unfortantly? Iam gnna sterlise my stuff now
Re: Youngs brew buddy
if sugar just for priming, just use normal household sugar
but to ferment use either brewing sugar, beer enhancher ( half sugar half spraymalt) or malt extract dried or liquid will give better results

Re: Youngs brew buddy
normal white sugar is fine...you use so little of it 80g or whatever for 5 galons its only a drop in the ocean and wont make any taste difference....
