Fixby,s Gold well impressed any similar out there?

Post by colgilbec » Tue Oct 06, 2009 10:00 pm

Just cracked a bottle or three of Fixby Gold, whilst bottling milestones black pearl,WOW!!!! the brewers out there are right, this is the best by far,as i was looking to get somewhere close to Batemans Combined Harvest, as far as beers goes i reckon its the best out there, prove me wrong!!

Sorry about the borrowed frosted glass that i took a liking to it doesnt give the beer justice.

Using the kit + a pack of hopped malt spray that i followed from previous posts, resulted in a brew that i cannot praise enough,on the downside was its too b----y strong as a session beer, according to my calcs it came out as 5.4% .orig grav 10.46 down to 10.08.
Hangover next day,oh yes its a man thing  we allways say never again until the hair of the dog springs to mind, such is life!.
Anyone out there produced a light golden ale that reall hits the spot?

I made it up with a pack of hopped DME as well and heartily agree, its a cracking brew and even better three months in the bottle. I'll have to get another one on soon, I only have a few bottles left now.

colgilbec, I've fixed your image so everyone can see it, when posting a picture the IMG code is the best one to use, and it's also wise to check the picture has displayed properly as well.

Good looking pint. Fixby was a firm favourite of mine when I did kits.
