Hi peeps, just pondering on using 1kg of honey instead of the suger with my next brew,
EDMA ipa, i know i can use spraymalt or beer enhancer, but i thought using honey would give a nice flavour.
hope someone can advise. thanks in advance .
I say that you should give it a go. I use orange blossom honey at least a couple of times a year in a APA and it lends a delicate aroma and taste that I can taste. Its definitely a step up from straight sucrose at least for me.

Thanks Eoinmag, as i'm new to this brewing lark, is secondary a lot more work or is it quite straight forward.
i have only fermented one brew, and that went straight in to the pressure barrel. as soon as it was ready.
so i have'nt done any secondary.
I find that when using honey it is a good idea to have added some yeast nutrient to your wort during the boil, however if you are just using a kilo I don't believe that it is an absolute necessity more of just a good practice and one that I follow on every brew not just ones that incorporate honey.
