BREWFERM DARK ABBEY (ABDIJ) BEER-TOO HIGH FG
Hi there, right i'm having problems reaching final gravity on my brewferm dark abbey beer. It is sitting at 1018, I have tried adding extra yeast and yeast vit to get starting again but to no avail. Its say's on instructions needs to be below 1010. I have a heating belt on it, don't have it on all the time as there is only 9 litres and i don't want to boil the stuff!!! I have swirled the brew around, maybe a bit vigoursly...
Hope i haven't ruined it in doing so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i don't wanna lose this one! Thanks

What was the starting gravity? It might be done. My last strong lager, made with 2 cans of Geordie and some other bits and bobs thrown in finished at 1018 and I thought it was a bit high as it started at 1060 but I bottled it and its turned into the best kit/s I`ve done.

Yea it started at 1070, supposed to finish at 8%....so you more than likely are right.

I've done the Brewferm Triple, Grand Cru & Diabalo kits & they all started at 1067 & finished around 1018-1020.
They all were mighty tasty after 8 weeks in thebottle, so not to worry.

I done a double batch of Abdij back in May with Golden syrup - it finished at 1017. I didnt quite fill bottles up just in case, but it came out fantastic & drunk before September
(doubt I will ever taste one thats made 4 months!)
