hi, does anyone know any cider kits which dont take very long?
also, are the geordie kits any good?
i was thinking about doing a scottish export or mild as ive got a kg of brewers sugar, so i wanted to do a cheap brew to see if its drinkable for a session beer.
many thanks in advanced
Joe

The Geordie kits are pretty good value for money, but improved a lot with BKE & hops. Not tried the mild but the Export is ok - I prefer the Yorkshire bitter kit though.

well when I made the Export I just used Tate & Lyle, and it was perfectly drinkeable but a bit 'thin' - fantastic value for money though!

Geordie Yorkshire Bitter is a very good session ale but use at least 500 grams dry spray malt or BKE. You won't go far wrong either with the Bitter, Mild and Scottish Export. Wasn't very impressed with the Lager though. Have just fermented a Cooper's European Lager and even when bottling you could tell that the body was impressive and it smelled and tasted far superior. It has now gone to bed for twelve weeks and will be opened on the first weekend of the Six Nations rugby tournament. Not everything about winter is bad.

Proper willpower that and will be rewarded - I'm so close to getting at my Brewferm Grand Cru that I made last January for this Xmas, about 11 months conditioning!
fractureman - checked and the last Finlandia I did (excellent kit btw) was in primary for 17 days as I was away after putting it on. It fermented out a treat, very clear going into bottles via the bottling bucket and ended up tasting great, very fruity and quite sweet. I can stand about 1/2 pint of the stuff as it's not to my taste (give me an IPA or a decent stout any day) but missus/friends love it.

Can anyone say how there cider turned out? Never done a cider kit and might be interested in starting one for summer! I like the sound of the pear/strawberry cider kits.
Cheers
