:evil: im having problems with chill haze seems like every brew i do gets chill haze as soon as it goes in the shed.
so my questions are what causes it and can i stop it :mrgreen:
i like my beer cold and clear :roll:

Conventional wisdom is that it's due to proteins being absorbed due slow cooling. However, I cool naturally over 5 hours and don't suffer chill haze. My own view is that good copper finings, such as whirfloc, protafloc or rehydrated Irish moss in the last 10 minutes of the boil, are a huge step to avoiding chill haze. Your calcium levels are another thing to consider.

You have made the beer turn clear by warming it haven't you? This would confirm that it is chill haze that you're seeing.

Chill haze will go away after 3-4 weeks cold conditioning.
