A thick woollen blanket wrapped around your FV would work better and uses less electricity.

I haven't needed to turn the belt back on as it was about 22C when I got home from work and about 19C this morning. Will check again when I get home tonight and if it's dropped below 18C I'll try the blanket method. It doesn't seem to be too bad indoors but I'm planning on moving my brewing operation to the garage, in which case I think the belt will become a necessity - especially over the next few months.
