Are there any advantages /disadvantages to leaving the brew longer in the primary fermentation?

Just tried my first bottle of brewferm and i must say i am very impressed with it. As it is only my 2nd brew i would recommend to all newcomers.

if you are lookig for a cheaper alternative Geordie do a good lager. done my second batch now, this time with brewing sugar and already looks the business. also if your lucky you can pick Geordie kits up at your local wilko

I have just started a coopers, with 500g spray malt and 500g brewing sugar. Hope it turns out as good as the brewferm. :D

There is a Wilko opening very close to where i live in the next few months. So i will have to pop over to see if they have any Geordie kits. :flip:

ive spent the afternoon drinking the ambiorix and the tarwebier whilst watching the rugby/cricket with a fellow homebrewer who brought round some scottish heavy.

the ambiorix is lovely, if a tad young and the tarwebier is fantastic.

ive just had to spend half an hour putting the 1 drunk missus to bed after 2 pints of '5.5%' tarwebier, i quote

5.5%? your talking shite, its more like 7!

maybe the extra i put in to bump the hydrometer up a tad had worked its magic....
