White depoit on pet bottle?

Post by sargie » Fri Nov 27, 2009 6:13 pm

Hi all i made a wherry a cpl of months back and i have just poured some to try it. After pouring it i noticed white stuff all around the ridge of the bottle were the neck meets the main body of the bottle. Any ideas what it could be im thinking yeast that may have got stuck there from secondary fermentation. The beer tastes and smells lurvly but i am slightly concerend that it may be a bacterial bloom that may make me ill.

I can't get a decent pic of it im afraid but it is like white tiny dots.

It can't make you ill so rule that out, it's probably a little yeast krausen from the bottle ferment.

Thanks m8ty it does look like yeast, it is the same colour as the sediment in the bottom of the bottle. As i said it tastes and smells fine. Thanks again.
