1/2ltr batch of Star San solution?
At the risk of sounding tight, can you knock up a 1/2ltr batch of Star San with 0.5ml?
At the moment I probably brew about once or twice a month, so 1ltr of Star San solution is way too much for my needs. The pipettes I got off fleabay have 1 & 0.5ml marks on them so...??

It has to be 1ml I think. Use a spray bottle then keep it for next time.

I believe the recommended concentration is 8ml/litre, so you would need 4ml/0.5litre.
If you make it up with deionized water, it will keep for ages.

Most people I've spoken to on here go for 1ml per 500ml and don't have any problems. You can use Volvic water too. It's worked great for me. Around £1 for 2L. Will last you for ages. Just add 4ml of Star San to the bottle.

Yes, of course - slight slip on my part thereAndy wrote:Fivestar list a no rinse dilution of of 1 US fl oz / 5 US gallons

Re: 1/2ltr batch of Star San solution?
I've just orderd some star san from the homebrew shop and it says the correct dilution for a no rinse application is 300ppm.
Now could someone correct me if i'm wrong but 300ppm is 0.03% so thats 0.3ml per litre
But 1 oz (28.4ml) and that will do 5 us gallons (19l), so thats 1.5ml per litre.
Is the homebrew shop wrong for stating 300ppm?

No, diluted at 1.5625ml in 1L yields a solution with a concentration, of the active ingredients, of 300ppmgnutz2 wrote:Is the homebrew shop wrong for stating 300ppm?

That's way too much! The recommended concentration is 1.6ml StarSan per litre of water, so it should be 0.8ml/0.5 ltr.sib67 wrote:I believe the recommended concentration is 8ml/litre, so you would need 4ml/0.5litre.

Ah, just a bit missleading.Aleman wrote:No, diluted at 1.5625ml in 1L yields a solution with a concentration, of the active ingredients, of 300ppmgnutz2 wrote:Is the homebrew shop wrong for stating 300ppm?
I assumed "no rinse required when used at 300ppm" meant 300ppm of star san.
Thanks for clearing that up

Re: 1/2ltr batch of Star San solution?
I think you did the same maths I did a while back that led to two brews getting dumped! And to think I have a Physics degree...floydmeddler wrote:Most people I've spoken to on here go for 1ml per 500ml and don't have any problems. You can use Volvic water too. It's worked great for me.
