Some nice set up you have there.Is that a safe you have there in the backround I bet it's to keep your grain under lock & key

o'r is it a power controller

if grains get underneath it will stick, you can prevent this by piping in copper.
if it sticks because the grain bed packs down, blow back up the run off tube (its worth fitting one to the tap) run off slowly to start with and make sure the grain bed is always floating by balancing the run off with the sparge liquer, that may mean stopping the run off periodicaly.
In my limited experience of using the false bottom, I have found that a lot of air gets trapped under the plate and can cause an airlock wich may lead to a "stuck" mash.
I find that once the liquor is in the mash tun a few taps on the plate with a long handled spoon releases a lot of air through the holes in the plate
Worth a try next time

What's that covering your mash tun prolix?
cut up carrymats. stuck the off cut bits on the outside of the boiler as it wasn't.
