Nice looking brewday! And a lovely clear looking wort - for a stout :D

As for the white dog poo, if you give your dogs plenty of meaty bones from the butchers, you'll start seeing it again!

Finally - on Neil Young, if he's a bit before your time, then you owe it to yourself to do a thorough investigation. A superb body of work. I saw him play last lear at a gig with Primal Scream. The Primals fancy themselves a bit as rockers, but even at 75 or whatever he is now, Neil just blew them into the gutter without even trying..... The man is a legend.

Cheers guys :)
The Wort was very clear, no cold break to mean anything made it through to the FV, Just a tiny bit brought up by the Yeast.
The yeast head has now been replaced with an active fizz on the surface (maybe not a good sign for future head formation??)
I'll contemplate checking Neil Young out.

Looks like a perfect brewday! Really like the Fementis yeasts - never given me any grief.
I've not actually measured the pH following mashing yet, but have some papers.

Quick question, where do you measure the pH? Is it in the mashtun itself following mashing, the first runnings, or from the wort after it's collected?

Ta!

after you've mashed-in, so about 10 minutes of being wetted, just get a teaspoon of wort from the top of the mash and spread it on a white plate to cool, then dunk your pH strip in :)

Bottled this yesterday...
So far I don't detect anything that resembles a Hemp Taste, but it definitely has a different roasted flavour.

Possibly back to the drawing board, try something with raw hemp seed next time or the (semi)-malted stuff I made myself.
