Ok everyone, bit of a poll type question. What would be everyones preferences? What would you prefer kit wise to make a better beer? An all malt type kit like a Wherry, or nelson's revenge, or a one can type kit to add sugar to, but replacing normal sugar with spray malt etc? Any tips or advice gladly recieved. Just wondered what everyones preferences would be.
Re: Preferences
I prefer the premium 3kg kits, I think they have far better quality than the 1.5-1.8kg kits, there again the Coopers Mexican Cerveza is good!
Re: Preferences
The 3KG kits are better but the smaller kits leave more room to experiment by adapting them.

Re: Preferences
Personally, I think the answer's in the question. It is all down to preference. I prefer Coopers Stout. Period. I like the end result better than anything else I've put down my neck. What goes into helping me produce the result I prefer doesn't concern me
Interestingly, I have here the label from a Coopers Brewmaster Stout, which has just finished fermenting and is to be kegged. This is supposed to be a better class of stout. And I see the label states it contains 3.75 Ilbs of extract? I couldn't say if that's supposedly good or bad, in the scheme of things. Because I honestly haven't got a clue what their regular kits contain.
Like I say; Doesn't concern me. I just enjoy (prefer) the results

Re: Preferences
Just to be difficult, I prefer lagers made up with dextrose rather than spraymalt (does that make me the odd one out, everyone else in the forum seems to prefer spraymalt
) but I think ales are much better from 3kg kits.

Re: Preferences
Hi, I've enjoyed most - but not all - of the 3kg kits I've made. However I've never been dissapointed with a Coopers kit (or indeed Coopers LME when extract brewing) so they get my vote. Personal preference is everything though!
Re: Preferences
Brewers Choice kits were by far the best kits, made with 1kg Spraymalt, but I made 3 batches of Coopers Dark Ale that I would have paid a £5 a pint for.
