Milestone Crusader with belgian candi sugar

Hi all,
Thinking of getting in to home brewing and starting off on milestone crusader. was just wondering if i added 250g - 500g belgian candi sugar to this kit to try and get it up to around 6-7 % would this be possible and has anyone done this already ive heard this kit is similar to leffe blonde but does not have the strenght with only being 4.5%.
I'm planning on getting all the kit i need from the brewmart is this company any good.

The sensible thing for a beginner to do would be to make the kit up straight and see if you like the results.

Is that the Brewmart in Sheffield, if so yes they are excellent. I'd sooner drive 4 miles across town or get bus even and support my local home brew shop than get stuff off the internet. They are very helpful in there, unfortunately they had a store 15 minutes walk from where I live but that closed earlier in the year.

I'd echo what Oldspeckledbadger said, it's supposed to be a very good brew that Crusader from what I've heard, so I'd play it safe and stick to the recommended instructions for a first time brew and you're less likely to end up disappointed.

i believe that's a 2 can kit so you could do what i did with a 2 can kit a while ago: brew up 1 can normally but obviously using only half the volume of water so you get 2 and half gallons of it unaltered and use the full yeast sachet. Based on how that tastes you can adapt the other can when you brew it and use a yeast more suited to your adjustment such as using a belgian yeast more suited to high alcohol content and candy sugar.

Agreed, I've only been in once but it seems like a good place.. Just be aware that they're closed on Wednesdays - I wasn't. #-o
