At last it is ready (thanks to a late addition of gelatine)

although she is now complaining that it is too strong

after one glass she nods off in front of the telly leaving me to watch what I like without comment. She still doesn't see it from my perspective as a good thing and has requested a 4-4.5% lager. Back to the drawing board...

Cheshire Cheese that was one of the best posts I've read in ages.
I've only ever brewed two lagers before, one from a kit and the other from grain. The kit was terrifyingly bad so I stayed away from it for years.
The second one was much much better although I forgot to rest it at room temperature after bottling / carbonation and it came out slightly cloudy.
Having read all the way through your posts I've got some ideas for doing another one and as the weather outside is cold I'm going to make the most of it and get a lager going!

Yeah, I've got a lager planned in the next couple of weeks. I'll include some smoked malt this time.

The lager is now all gone  , just managed to save half a glass, closing the tap before it was ruined by a splutter of gunk :-&

I posted the recipe on my website under the name vi lager and noticed that I was getting hits from Norway. I'm now wondering whether to change the name to vi lager øl :-k

or perhaps vi lager öl to get hits from Sweden
