hi

i have learnt through practise to open packet and put into fermenter first, that way no steam gets to it, the add one kettle of water to it mix steadyly for about a minute and then carry on with the kit.

should, work i did it today

I just sprinkle / pour (It's hard to sprinkle with my left hand as I stir with my right. It generally comes out faster than I intend) the stuff into my cold water. Whisk about a bit with the paddle, as it goes in. Never had any problems.

I think I once saw an entire thread on here, seemingly dedicated to how much one could f**k about with a pack of malt. I think some people have just convinced themselves that it Has To be a drama, else it's no good.

even if it clumps, a good smashing around in the bottom of the FV for a good few minutes soon shows it who's the daddy.

As I recall, that device has a stir setting on it!................anyway I add it to warm (about 35C) water and stir. Seems to mix well at that.

Not at all :( still trying to find time to do an AG brew since before Christmas. I've resorted to doing a kit brew - purely in the interest of my customers, in case they ask questions about the kits - I'd like to have hands on experience of the kits I'm selling. I will also be conducting thorough taste tests.

I've not checked the family planning section to see what we have, but you'd be amazed what Durex have in their range.

if you used one of those oscillating devices with the little thumb on the end, turned it upside down and fitted an extention to it it would probable stir it for you at the same time.......i,ve got nothing better to do
