It currently tastes slightly thin but very alcoholic (its only actually about 3.8-4.0%) Is it better to behave and wait till it drops clear or just tuck in!?!
If only you'd left the whole lot that long before starting on it.....get sorted with regular brews rolling over so you don't have to be drinking beer too early. After a few brews that eagerness should leave you when you realise, if the last had been the first and every following......Hoodlum wrote:The other thing you'll find is that the best pint of it you have will be the last one you can get out of the barrel. Exactly the same here David with that first Wherry. I've found getting set up over the last two months that I need at least a minimum of three kegs to get me onto a roll so that my newer brews get left alone to mature, and to be honest I'm even tempted to get a fourth keg but space might be an issue with four, so maybe I need a little more patience and forward planning with the three.davidmpye wrote:My opinion, based on very limited experience, and the information kindly given to me in the aforementioned thread:
Enjoy it, and in the meantime, get another brew on.
I'm about 15% through my very immature keg of Wherry, but on the plus side, even if it barely makes it to maturity, it has given my other keg of Admiral's Reserve some breathing space, so by the time I'm ready for that it will be almost matured. Then while that's on, I can put another on (St Peters Ruby Ale is next). So hopefully from now on my brews will get adequate breathing space to mature - it was just my first that 'died' too young![]()
