Alreet Fettlers,
Bit of an issue with my budget keg, found it sat in a bit of a puddle over the festive period, had a bit of a poke around and I deduce where the barell seals at the bottom is seeping out. I was lucky on two counts really, It wasn't filled with Nectar, but some killer 15% Turbo cider, and the big freeze had come over us so I sat it in the ice which froke the bottom of the keg and stopped it leaking.
The leak had started before the cold snap so it wasn't the keg 'freezing' and the rocket fuel inside expanding thus knackering the keg, I don't think it was the tap seal as have tested it so pretty sude its the 'join' on the two halves.
Can it be fixed or shall I sling it?
Luckily had some willing mates to help me shift it quick style, the less said about that evening the better!

Re: Split Keg

Fine. They buy them in bulk from the cheapest suppliers ~ China, most likely ~ and they'll be pumped out by the thousands. No ones real fault if the machine spits out a duffer, late on Friday. Shouldn't be a drama.
If this was the first time ye used it, it's a duffer. No problemmo. Ask for ~ and expect ~ a replacement. No skin off the sales staffs noses, is it? Be nice to them. Appreciate the situation. Get a fresh keg

If not? Tell us all about is!

The Youngs basic kegs sold by Wilkos are actually made by Weltonhurst based in Blackburn who also made the King Keg.

They are stamped on the bottom with the month and year of manufacture and have the W symbol.
They may, however, have some Chinese working in their factory.
