Mini Digital Temperature Controller

Post by floydmeddler » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:45 pm

I know a few people on the forum have ordered one of these:

Have any arrived yet and if so, what's the verdict?

Ooh that looks like a handy bit of kit, but do you guys use it for fermenting or in the boiler or M tun?
Also, what do you connect it too, any special heating and cooling elements or just any type?

I`m going to trial one out in the mash tun, and then if it works ok i`m going to get another for the FV

Mine hasn't arrived yet either. Ordered mine 8 working days ago but I suppose they are travelling quite a distance. I plan to use mine with an aquarium heater and a water bath as a quick set-up.

I picked mine up from the post office this morning.
It had been there since 27 jan (i couldn't get there to pick it up sooner cos of work!), so that made it 10 days from paying for it to it arriving at my door - dont think thats bad service.
For some reason i expected it to be bigger than it is - which is fine with me cos its going to be easier to find an enclosure for it. Saying that and looking back at other peoples photos of their TC10's, its probably the same size.

It was packed in a decent enough jiffy bag which had been opened and sealed again (customs?), and was boxed inside the bag with an instruction sheet. This looks completely self explanatory, and although i haven't plugged it in yet it i cant see any problems arising.
Will post again on its performance when i get it wired up - probably not today.
