I've contributed to this forum for over two years. When have I ever bullied anyone?? Ok, Flack was the first, but he was asking for it.
My sense of humor is not for everyone. My only recommendation would be if it's not your thing, do not bother reading a certain blog
I contribute to. Easy! I try to keep a serious profile on here, because I love brewing. Been brewing for over twenty years now. Got a
great deal of help from Chris regarding water. All in all, Jim's Beer Kit has been a joy contributing to.

Now an apology. Flack, if you're out there reading this, I apologize. If I upset you in any way, with a crude, belligerent, response,
to your initial attack,I'm sorry. I'm sure there's room for the both of us here with our varying opinions. I understand your dismay with
UK-05. I'm willing to call it Safale-05, if we can just drop the whole saga. I wish you well in your brewing. Lets move on.

I thought Whorst's attack on SF was just friendly banter and not a personal attack.

Steve - you should just give as good as you get - let him have it, for the sake of your country!

PS did anyone ever have a fight over the name of a yeast strain before? It could be a first in the history of human civilisation.

Whorst, not sure about the lyrics, but how the %&*" did you get George Micheal to record this version?!

He owed me a favor from the time I didn't press charges against him for trying to *&^%$ my dog in the mens of the local doggie park! :=P
Apparently Andrew Ridgeley got George into Proper Beer, regardless of yeast strain. When I mentioned it was for a track about UK-05, his eyes lit up. I think this is evident, as the track is filled with raw emotion.

I have no animosity towards Steve Flack. If he left because of the things I've said and recorded, I'm sorry, for real.
My intention was not to force the man to leave, or make him uncomfortable posting.

I'm still here. I've just gone outside for a metaphorical fag.

The aforementioned Mr Michaels? badumtish!

As someone with dual-nationality (well an Irish passport is £16.50 cheaper than a UK one, plus if the plane gets hijacked I can get off with the women and children) I empathise with the poor yeast. In this new era of co-operation and understanding I propose that the yeast be known as 05 with no territorial claims from any one

Telling everyone Your My Best Mate
Ahh thanks, Steve.

Back to yeast though - not a fan of US-05 as I don't get yeast flavor out of it. Never use it anymore sub 4%. I can see where people like it when they want the hops to shine thru. Guess I am a maltworm rather than a hophead.

Oh and do I call myself UKlad now since part of the gene pool allegedly originated in the UK?

EDIT:
Never provided an answer for Flowers IPA because I can't as I have never had it! From the options provided I would go with WL- 05, if you want a hop show case US-05 or Notthingham.

But there a good number of American brewers that use English yeast for some very well know APA or IPA's
