All went smoothly. got 19L @ 1.050 instead if 20L @ 1.046 but the recipe was formulated for batch sparging and I decided to experiment with fly! I recon I'm a convert as It was not much more hassle and I got my pre boil amount and an efficiency of 91.6% :D :D :D :D

It has taken 26 hours lag time but it's finally shown some signs of life. I pitched with 3 splits of wlp005 as it was an impromptu brewday so no starter and I didn't ant to use S04! :D :D

I took some pics but will get them up ASAP!

Hope it turns out good, I drank my last bottled of my AG4 Black Sheep Ale last night which had aged well though didn't taste much like a real Black Sheep.

Not much difference then - 19L@1050 is 20L@1047.5 after diluting it back. That's pretty much what others have found too when comparing batch to continuous/fly. Of course, you can squeeze more grain into a tun with continuous sparging if you try a little

Just had a hydro sample out of the FV. It should be all done at 1.015. 69.9% attenuation from a predicted 70.4%, so not too bad. It has come out at 4.7% ABV but that probably has something to do with BeerAlchemy's figure for my mash efficiency........91.6%. Think i'll be fly sparging more often! :D :D :D :D

Taste wise it's pretty good. Still a little yeast haze in it, it;s only 8 days old :D I ran out of Goldings after the FWH (need to re asses my stock control policy!  ) so replaced with first gold. It is a very good lightish ale. Not 100% true to commersial form flavour wise but after 3-4 weeks I reckon it's going to be tip top. Next time I brew this i'll mash slightly cooler, maybe 63/64 as the mouth feel/body is a bit much for this type of ale. Other than that well happy. Gonna dig out the nikon later and finally get the photos up! :D :D :D

laters!
