I was just reading through the recipe....and I thought "mmmmm....that looks nice....in fact, it sounds a bit like......" :D

Anyway - the oats were great in the one i did. They really added to the mouthfeel. That should be cracking, but personally I'd up the IBU a bit.

As for the oats, I'm not sure about porridge oats. I think you can just use them "as is", but I used Flaked Oats from Barley Bottom on mine - which are probably just the same thing.....

I just use normal porridge oats...

I agree with ADM, you can keep the principle of massive late hopping but throw in some IBUs at the start of the boil just to make it a bit more IPA - like.

I'm not sure if the IBU formulas are robust with late hopping, I've found the bitterness to be below what is calculated.

Mmm, that's going to be some beer!! I missed my final volume by a couple of litres on my last brew as the 60g of hops I chucked in at flame out stole them!!

I had 200g of hops in my last beer, stole a whole load of beer. :evil:

Dry hopping with 100g of hops. So i am expecting more theft.

I wish. This will be brewed about two weeks from now. A week from now I a brewing a belgian pale, then a week after that this guy. :mrgreen:

Hopefully I will be brewing it soon enough WLP001 is the yeast, if my stir plate is going. :mrgreen:
