Here's one from my recipe database, I think it's one Steve Flack created and posted

23 litres
OG 1032
IBU 18.7
EBC 40.5

Pale 2.5kg
Crystal (light) 430g
Crystal (dark) 260g
Chocolate (900EBC) 200g

Mash at 67C for 90 mins

Northdown 8%AA 18g 90mins

I made it a couple of years agao, turned out quite good.

I also have a recipe for Darleys Mild as well as the ones in Graham's Book

Many thanks for this recipe! This looks like jumping the queue to be my next brew.

Does anyone have any other Brains recipes? I am an avid Brains beer fan and would like to brew some at home but I can't seem to find any recipes on the web. Which, in all honesty, may be due to my lack of searching skills - but I have tried!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,
Just made this up, as a 2 gallon batch, I used the above recipe (2/5) but although I mashed for 90 mins, I only got a OG of 1022, not the 1032 indicated by the recipe. Going into the FV it tastes ok (still new so not really sure what it should taste like) tastes clean with a burnt coffee over tone.

Any thoughts as to why the OG is so low?

Thanks everyone
