Hi
Tonights brew Stryian Stunner using Bobeks
Half way through mash at the moment all going well
started at 7pm 25mins upto 70oc in boiler mash in at 730pm temp at 63oc
doing a 60 min mash to see if there is any difference and going with a 60 min boil aswell maybe just over just to be sure
lets see how it goes

You really should have done the leg-work (A.K.A. using the search function) and read Graham Wheeler's comments about 60 minute mashes. IME 60 minute boils are fine although you'll need to tweak the hop quantities a bit if you want to get close to the recipe's IBU.
Best wishes

63C is a little on the low side and would benefit more from a longer mash - though I personally find that a 60min mash works fine (but I tend to mash at 66-68C). I think a lot depends on your system/water.

Hope it goes well :D

Or a big disappointment assuming you think that Graham's talking a load of crap.
Best wishes

we have to try these things its called trial and error
and we learn from our own mistakes (if it is one)
ive actually ended up doing an 80min boil instead due to other things on the go so should have a nice stunner
Just finished cooling now got down to 23c time to pitch the yeast im using so4 on this one

Ah! Sure it'll be fine then. GW in BYOBRA says: "Some homebrewers reduce this [the mash] to 60 minutes to save time, but a lower quality wort, or a poorly balanced wort is likely to result, particularly if the temperature of the mash drops significantly during the mash period." I'll usually mash only lower end beers for 60 min - big beers get a couple of hours, and the ones in the middle about 90min. I usually forget to start heating the water in the HLT early enough anyway so my 60min mashes often come out at 75-90min anyhow

Shouldn't this be re-named Bobek Blinder or similar? :)
