Ive had mine being used on and off when needed in my fridge - either holding fermenting temps or for cold conditioning and have had no probs at all with it. Never got round to using it for hlt, mainly because ive never really got round to it!

Hi,

I've wired mine up to have a seperate socket (on a lead-like an extension lead)) for the cooling and heating circuit.

I hope to use it for a fermenting fridge, but at the moment I'm using the second fridge to keep wine/beer cool... I'll try and get another one from the local free ads place...

I've test both the cooling and heating and it works... I've used it to control a heat belt- worked a treat!

:)

Got mine today so chuffed!

What setting did you chaps set on the "difference set value" (set range is 0.3 - 10 C, default 0.5 C) and Compressor delay time (set range is 1 - 10 min, default 3 min)?

I'm guessing choose the minimum for each? I'm initially only interested in cooling.

Great little controller =D>

Anyone got the link again for this? I have clicked on the one on here but it goes to the ended item. I wanted to make sure I get the same one as everyone is talking about.

Hi,

I left the compressor delay at 3 mins and changed the range difference to 0.3 - this seems to work fine and there is very little change in temprature when used for cooling...

There seems to be slighty more variation ~0.8C (which isn't really significant) when I used it for heating...
I can only imagine this is because the fridge is well insulated whereas heat is lost to the air around the FV/DJ...

:)

Hi have just got one of these jobbies , what sort of amp needs to be on the temp controller itself ?. I presumed its a 3 amp - my pid is the same . I wired up with a wire that only has live and neutral . Is this ok to wire this with just live and neutral ? it turns on and register temperature , havent rigged up to fridge yet, want this to be fairly secure and i hope i am doing the right thing

The Cornelius Maxi range of flash chillers aren't supposed to be switched on and off within 5 minutes. I don't know if this applies to all compressors, but fridges don't switch on and off a great deal in normal use either. So 5 minutes might be a good starting point.

But if you use the Temperature controller to switch the Pump of the Chiller, then it matters not how frequently they are switched.
