Salifert Kits

Hi

In order to test my water, which of the kits do I need? Is it the KH + Alkalininty??

Sorry to ask such a daft question!

Thanks

Thanks. I've ordered on online, so we'll see what happens when it arrives! Do people test the alkalinity on a regular basis i.e. each time they brew?

With the results from the test be sufficient to be able to adjust one's water accordingly?

I think the answers to your questions are yes, and err... yes!

Seriously though, I believe the kit has enough in it for 100 test (yes?), so I'll certainly be testing each time. Water will vary over time, and from some of the posts I recall reading, that variation can be quite significant. The test result will enable you to calculate the correct amount of CRS to add; you'll also be adding a half, crushed camden table (depending on the brew length) and a teaspoon of gypsum to the mash, and another to the boil. I gather that should do you nicely.
