Serving suggestion

We put so much into a brweday, started thinking about a thread related to ways of serving our efforts! Admittedly this one wasn't one of mine, but a polypin of Wylam Collingrood. The polypin is in an electric coolbox I modified to take a beer line - keeps it at about 12.5 degrees.

great setup Im hoping to do something simular as ive just started using polypins, where did you get the coolbox from.

Hey Padley.... coolbox was from http://www.minicoolers.co.uk/products/waeco/tc35.htm - good turnaround from ordering, just a couple of days.

So far, the only modification I've made was a holesaw in the side for the bber line. and a couple of rubber feet, although I'd like to add a permenant temperature guage, and possibly a recycling pump for the Angram cooling jacket if I get inventive

One thing to be aware of... I've come across two types of polypin :



The one on the left is the best as it slots straight in, and is semi-rigid, can be attached with standard beer line and a couple of Jubilee clips. The one on the right is tougher and need a specific adaptor (the one in black at the front) it's also much thinner plastic, and is really tough to get into the coolbox. Either way, both need to be taken out of the cardboard and placed in the coolbox an absolute minimum of 24 hours before serving

Nice serving area and equipment, got to admit that it pains me to se a garage going to waste like that when it could have a brewery installed in it! Its been medically proven that garages grow up to be happy stable members of the community if they play with breweries when they are young.

great to know Ive got the ones on the left but 5 litre ones. Now I just have have to wait for my check to clear then I can get a beer engine

Whats with the Chevron Line Tape?

Yep, I'd always intended of keeping the car in the garage, but it was a bit of a squeeze so the tape helps remind me not to put anything "on the inside of the tape! or it'll get squished! This being said, the brewery at the back of the garage has grown so much, I'll probably never get a car in there again! (Unless it's a smart car, something like that!)

Cheers for the link! not seen that one.... I suspect though I'd struggle to get a 36 pint polypin in.... the 35 litre coolbox is a bit tight, leaving room for airlow, and attaching the beer line... so I'm thinking a 26 litre would be nigh on impossible It also needs to be chocked up at the back to ensure all the sediment drops below the tap.

Cooling ability is seriously impressive for a coolbot without a compressor..... settings are from 1-7ish.... on a warm day (around 23C) it took the polypin down to 12.5 on a setting of 2.... another 5 to go!

Ok, it's a bit pricey at £200, but it'd dual purpose as you can take it camping, coming with 12/24V car connections as well as 240V, and has good storage capacity.... I really like it!
